Senior Executive Leader - Assistant Inspector General for Intelligence Oversight, National Security Agency

Job Description

The Assistant Inspector General for Intelligence Oversight (AIG/IO) is responsible to the Inspector General (IG) for overseeing and conducting evaluations that examine a wide range of NSA intelligence and intelligence-related programs and activities to assess if they are conducted efficiently and effectively; are in compliance with federal law, executive orders and directives, and IC, DoD, and NSA policies; and appropriately protect civil liberties and individual privacy. IO evaluations are conducted in accordance with the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency 'Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation.' This is an Executive-level Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service (DISES) position. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ' Leading the Intelligence Oversight Group, supervising experienced staff who conduct evaluations, and supporting the OIG inspections program. The AIG/IO recruits and leads a workforce with substantial expertise in a wide range of specialties, including the legal and policy bases of Agency operations, internal auditing, and signals intelligence and cybersecurity operations. ' Planning and conducting comprehensive evaluations of high-risk and sensitive Agency activities. The primary objective of this work is to determine whether policies and internal controls provide reasonable assurance that these activities are carried out with due regard for legal and operational requirements. The AIG must supervise and assist in the preparation of reports with recommendations that are impactful in improving the integrity and efficiency of Agency operations. ' Supporting OIG joint and field inspections by coordinating work schedules with the OIG Inspections Group and assigning personnel to inspections that have an IO component. ' Conducting special inquiries into specific instances of potential intelligence activity violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), Executive Order 12333, and related laws and directives. ' Contributing to the development of an annual OIG work plan based on detailed analysis of risk analysis of Agency programs, operations, and authorities. ' Directing the development of formal reports of findings and making recommendations to Agency officials for corrective actions. ' Maintaining liaison with senior Agency leadership with regard to IO evaluations, as well as with other internal and external organizations performing oversight and compliance functions.

SALARY RANGE: $170,800-$181,500. OPEN TO: DoD Senior Executive Service WORK ROLE: Senior Leader LOCATION: Ft. George G. Meade, MD This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Periodic extended hours may be necessary. International and domestic travel may be required. The incumbent is subject to random drug and polygraph testing. This position requires a TOP SECRET clearance and SPECIAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION (SBI)
